Adding Rewards to Your Goals

To make your goal more appealing its worth adding a reward for attaining your goal. Attractive rewards help during moments of procrastination.

The reward should be unrelated to the goal itself. For example, if your goal is to loose 20lbs of body fat, then the reward shouldn’t be “I’ll feel more energetic”. Instead, you can reward yourself with a new iPhone.

Over the weekend I shared my recent 90-day plan with my wife.

She suggested that if I achieve my goals, we should take a 1-week vacation, because we both need it (ahmm, yes… 2 babies within a few years do that to you).

The idea instantly clicked – why not turn this vacation into a reward for 3 months of focused work?

We agreed to take this vacation middle of July, right after this 90-day goal will be completed.
